This backsplash and Island Top were made from original 50 million-year-old fossils. The stone was unearthed from our private quarry in southwestern Wyoming. A combination of finishes were applied to the stone revealing the naturally occurring fossils. The island top was honed flat and the backsplash uses a combination of honed stone and prepared fossils in shallow relief.

This fossil backsplash was made from a single slab of stone. The stone is our "Fossil Lake Classic" stone in a combination finish. (honed stone, prepped fossils).

This fossil tile backsplash features a large "Combination" tile (honed stone, fossil fish prepared in shallow relief), containing a giant Phareodus encaustus and other smaller fossil fish.

A modern kitchen design featuring our 50 million-year-old fossil tiles. The backsplash is made from naturally textured limestone tiles. Some of the tiles contain fossil fish, others are blank "field tiles" made from the same stone. The stone comes from the Green River Fossil Company quarry in southwestern Wyoming.

This kitchen features large slabs of natural cleft "Fossil Lake" stone containing a variety of large and small 50 million-year-old fossils. The stone was prepared, cut, and installed by the Green River Fossil Company.

This fossil tile backsplash was made from "Combination" finished fossil tiles (honed tiles with fossils prepared in shallow relief). A matching color grout was used to minimize the appearance of the seams between the tiles. The fossils include a large Diplomystus, three Knightia, and a small Priscacara. This natural cleft tile backsplash was made from a boldly textured medium-dark limestone containing authentic 50 million-year-old fossils. We call this stone layer "Fossil Lake Grand". The composition features large and small fossil fish. Designed and fabricated by Green River Fossil Company.

This kitchen features a backsplash made from "Combination" tiles (honed stone with the fossils prepared in shallow relief). The age of the fossils is 50 million years old. The backsplash was installed using a color-matching grout. This was done to minimize the appearance of seams between the tiles. Two factory coatings of a silicone-based sealer was applied to the stone to avoid the risk of stains.

This backsplash features a unique 50 million-year-old fossil tile containing both flora and fauna. The tile contains a rare fossil branch with two leaves and a small Diplomystus dentatus. The stone is displayed in a lighted frame made from granite and limestone.

The composition features both large and small fossils in a light-colored limestone matrix from the Early Eocene, 50 million years old. The stone was supplied in sections that when applied form a seamless, continuous look.

This backsplash was made from "Natural Cleft" (fully textured) fossil tiles. The top section is our "Fossil Lake Classic" stone layer with a large 36" x 48" centerpiece tile. The tile contains a large Diplomystus dentatus and a Phareodus testis. The smaller fossil tiles (left and right) contain a Knightia eocaena (left), and a Priscacara serrata (right). The horizontal band of stone between the dark and light tiles is a cross-section of our stone showing the sedimentary layers in horizontal bands. The lower tiles are honed tiles cut from our "Rust Lake" stone layer.

This kitchen contains three large tiles containing a variety of large and small 50 million-year-old fossil fish. The surface of the stone is honed with the fossils in shallow relief. We call this finish a "Combination Finish". The stone is our "Fossil Storm" stone layer. The fossils include three Knightia eocaena (left panel), a large Diplomystus dentatus, and a large Mioplosus labracoides, a small Cockerellites liops, and a small Knightia eocaena (center panel). The right panel contains two Knightia eocaena and a Cockerellites liops.

This backsplash contains a honed 16" x 24" fossil tile. The stone is our "Fossil Lake" stone layer. The fossil is a large Diplomystus dentatus in a honed finish.

The finish on the stone is a "Combination" finish (honed stone and the fossils in shallow relief). The fossils include a large Diplomystus dentatus and four Knightia eocaena. Surrounding the large centerpiece tile are 6" x 6" tiles made from the same stone layer.

This island top is made from a 5' x 9' slab of fossil stone with a textured "Rustic" edge. The island features a built-in cooktop. The stone contains a variety of large and small 50 million-year-old fossils. The top has been sealed with a silicone-based sealer designed dot protect it from stains. The stone is our "Fossil Lake" stone layer.

This bartop was made from a single slab of our "Fossil Lake Classic" stone. It has a honed finish with three large fossils in shallow relief. We call this a "Combination" finish. The stone has been sealed with a silicone-based sealer designed to protect it from stains. This sealer should be reapplied every few years to maintain its stain-resistant properties.

This home features a pass-thru countertop made from our honed "Fossil Lake" stone. The two-inch thick top features two large Diplomystus dentatus fossils and polished, eased, edges that reveal the natural sediment layers of the stone. 

A custom-made fossil Island top measuring 5' wide x 8' long. It was made from our "Fossil Storm" stone layer. The stone top contains twelve Knightia eocaena. It has a honed finish and textured rustic edges. The stone is supplied sealed with two factory coatings of a silicone-based sealer, designed to protect it from stains. 

A "Fossil Storm" island top with an under-mounted sink. This long and narrow island top measures 30" wide x 108" long. It has an eased edge that highlights the bands of sediment that form the stone.

A Giant island and backsplash made from fossil stone. The island top was made from our "Fossil Lake" stone in a "Honed" finish. The top contains a variety of large and small fossils. The kitchen backsplash is also made from fossil stone tiles. This stone is our "Fossil Lake" stone layer in a "Natural Cleft" finish. The kitchen contains fifteen- Knightia eocaena, a large Mioplosus labracoides, a large Diplomysuts dentatus, and two Knightia eocaena. The 50-million-year-old fossils are all of exceptional quality!

This kitchen includes a 6' wide x 3' tall fossil stone backsplash. The fossils appear in shallow relief and the stone has been honed. We call this a "Combination" finish. The stone layer is our "Fossil Lake" stone layer.
